The Global Leadership Initiative (GLI) is turbocharging global leaders’ ability to reach the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 through actively coordinating, funding and amplifying SDG-related projects.

Experts from most disciplines have declared the critical time frame for implementing the SDGs to be 2030. Current forecasts predict an untenable time frame of 2063.

The paramount need appears to be a systemic shift fostering unprecedented speed, scale and scope - in our collective will and coordinated action.

The Challenge

Our generational clarion call is for the well-being of our ecosphere, our economies and our society. Now is the time to deliver on the United Nations (UN) 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Yet the pervading mood is one of resignation. Even well-intended, well-connected players are asking, “How can our best efforts make a big enough difference fast enough?

The Opportunity

The world has the brain power and financial resources needed to achieve the UN SDGs. What is missing is collective will, coordinated global action, and catalytic funding. The time is now to form a central hub of collective action, which is why we are proud to announce the Global Leaders Initiative (GLI) — an innovative approach to drive exponential impact around the SDGs by bringing together members of the most respected and well-positioned leadership networks in the world.

The Initiative

Through conscious network design and orchestration, GLI will act as a force multiplier on thousands of SDG related projects – unlocking new possibilities, new sources of funding and ultimately amplifying the power of members of networks like the Young Global Leaders (YGL), Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), Delta Sigma Theta and other Leadership networks to make a seismic shift in their impact projects.

The focus will be on coordination and collective action across these organizations in a rapid transformational process at global scale to accelerate the relief of human suffering, create abundance for all, and foster sustainable life on Earth.

The Target

GLI is igniting the possibility of SDG17 “Partnerships for the Goals” by raising $1.7B to empower thousands of leaders already working on the ground around the world.

We are starting with six Breakthrough Containers and a series of acceleration events at COP28 followed by Davos in 2024 at which we will unveil a Global Guarantor program for qualified SDG projects.
